At the end of November 2020, Demi Lovato surprised fans with a drastic haircut: Her long, black hair was replaced by a chic, blonde bowl cut. While she's no stranger to short hair, this was a great way to close out the year, but that was only step one of her hair transformation journey, it seems. Now, her platinum blonde pixie cut is a super cute rosy pink color. 

The singer-songwriter revealed her new pastel hair in a cute little selfie video for Instagram. In the video, she works all her angles in a dark gray graphic tee, leopard fur jacket, and clear-framed glasses while running her hands through the new color. 

The bubblegum pink hue isn't the only new thing about her hair. The pixie looks about an inch shorter than when she first revealed the bowl cut; her bangs fall about an inch above her eyebrows rather than falling towards her lids. Whether this is a new trim or the result of some expert root-volumizing styling, we're not sure, it looks absolutely fire.

You can thank stylist Amber Maynard Bolt for this pastel-pink hue. The West Hollywood-based color expert was also responsible for the initial bleach job the star sought out. The pink shade was a popular go-to color for many who dyed their hair last year, so it's not shocking to still see it going strong among celebrities in 2021. 

In fact, New York City-based neuropsychologist Sanam Hafeez previously told Allure that many may be opting for the rosy color because of what it represents: "universal love of oneself and of others." The shade can be very calming, a very necessary feeling when dealing with the all of the unpredictability we've been facing. Whether Lovato reached for the shade to channel some inner peace or simply because it's cute, who knows? But only time will tell if she stays loyal to this shade or ventures further into the rainbow world of hair color.
