MILAN — Ambra Martone is the new president of Accademia del Profumo, the Italian association of fragrance companies.
In the role, Martone succeeds Luciano Bertinelli, chief executive officer of Ferragamo Parfums, who helmed the association for the past 10 years.
“My vision for the future of Accademia del Profumo is to take the association to new highs, creating even more value and quality,” said Martone, who will be president through 2022. “The challenges will be enhancing its attractiveness overall — among consumers, throughout the supply chain and the institutions – injecting glamour and energy and heightening its authority by involving and representing the whole Italian fragrance industry.”
A graduate with honors in economics from Milan’s prestigious Università Bocconi, since 2014 Martone has worked with her father Roberto and sister Giorgia in running the family company ICR Industrie Cosmetiche Riunite, a leading firm operating in the development, production and logistics of fragrances and cosmetics. Previously, Martone worked at Procter & Gamble in Geneva and for Firmenich in New York.
Accademia del Profumo was founded in 1990 with the goal to promote the history of perfume and increase its sales in Italy.
