Of all the amazing looks we've seen at the 2021 Grammy Awards, Megan Thee Stallion's is absolutely one of our top favorites. Her floor-length orange gown is eye-catching enough in and of itself — but pair it with her hair and makeup and you've got quite a sight to behold. And that sight is one of a 1990s prom queen.
Megan's makeup, as it often does, features a flawless complexion, neutral smoky eye, and fluttery lashes. Her lips pay homage to the decade she was born in with a deep lip line that blends inward to a soft pink lipstick, all coated with a high-shine gloss. And then there's that hair: a classic updo with two long, curled tendrils that fall all the way down to her collarbone.
The throwback style is the work of hairstylist Kellon Deryck, who works frequently alongside Megan. According to a press release, he used Dyson tools and Creme of Nature products to style the rapper's hair upward and into the desired shape. Here's a closer peek at the entire beauty look.
Megan's prom queen look couldn't have been a better choice for the night, because Megan might as well be the queen of the Grammys, too; she took home the first award of the televised ceremony, for Best New Artist, a highly coveted award. Then, she and Cardi B delivered the most-exciting performance of the night, during which she wore two totally different hairstyles in quick succession: old-Hollywood waves and pin-straight hair falling down past her (frankly, iconic) butt.
And if that weren't enough, she finished the night by winning the award for Best Rap Song alongside none other than Beyoncé for their collaboration on the remix of "Savage." Now, someone get this woman a crown and a sash ASAP.
