Coach's "C" print is one of the most recognizable logo designs in all of fashion-dom. Hitting peak ubiquity at the turn of the century, it fell a bit out of favor in the last decade; however, it's starting to see a comeback, being touted in Selena Gomez's Coach ad campaign and on over 200 items in the brand's current Signature collection. One of Coach's capsule-collection designers apparently wants to see the famous pattern on more than just handbags and footwear, though, sending a model down a London Fashion Week runway with the Coach logo dyed into a buzzcut.
Model Finn Buchanan was seen modeling for Matty Bovan, a designer who recently collaborated with Coach, sporting his usual nearly-bald hairstyle — but with a twist. As a clear nod to Bovan's capsule collection, Elle reports that stylist Syd Hayes' team created a stencil that allowed colorist Josh Wood to dye patches of Buchanan's platinum hair shades of brown and black in the unmistakable "C" shape.
Practical? No. But then again, neither are Bovan's designs, which is arguably one of the reasons they're so awesome.
Buchanan's wasn't the only buzzcut that went down Bovan's runway. Wood's team of colorists gave models Dree Hemingway, Tricia Akello, and Anna Rubin neon pink, teal, and bright red hair respectively, proving that buzzcuts are surprisingly versatile.
How the hair team at Buchanan's next runway show will handle undoing the Coach logo is yet to be seen. But the look is bound to be remembered long after it's bleached away, dyed over, or shaved off.
