Only children are given a pretty bad rap, typically considered spoiled, selfish, the list goes on. And this survey will only serve to make matters worse.

A study conducted by Illicit Encounters, a dating website for married people wanting to have an affair, found that the majority of its clients (34 percent) are sans siblings.

“It’s well-known that an only child can experience the feeling of immense loneliness in their childhood, and that comes back to haunt them in their future relationships,” spokesperson Christian Grant said.

“Having been starved of attention for so long, it’s something that they find themselves in desperate need of. This manifests itself quite clearly when someone’s partner works long hours or travels frequently for work; the alone time for an only child just won’t do, so an affair is the perfect short-term solution.”

Illicit Encounters found that the second highest group of users were first-born kids (28 percent), followed by youngest children (23 percent). And no, middle children weren’t forgotten but they were proven to be the most faithful making up only 15 percent of the website’s users.
