Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have spoken at length about their relationship – how they fell for each other while on a double date, when they first realised they were in love, and how their children have changed their lives – but overnight, Blake opened up specifically about why her marriage to Ryan works so well.
While a guest on Good Morning America, the actress credited the fact that they’re both Hollywood actors, saying having the same “weird” career helps things a lot.
“In general, yeah, it’s nice to have somebody who understands what you’re doing. Especially because our job is so weird – we have to, you know, like be married to other people, and it’s all so strange. It’s still strange. It’s never normal, even when we’re both doing it,” Blake explained.
“But it’s helpful to know that like, oh, when you’re acting like you’re in a relationship with someone [else], that’s not what’s actually happening. Because I have friends who are married to people who aren’t in the business, and they’re like, “Oh, so you’re not actually making love in that scene?!” And I’m like, “No, no, no, no, definitely not, no. So yeah, those elements are helpful.”
The mother-of-two also revealed that she doesn’t keep up with her husband’s hilarious jokes (usually about their daughters) on Twitter.
“Luckily I lost my password to Twitter like a year and a half ago, so I haven’t been able to keep up. So everybody’s always asking me about it, and I say ‘oh my god, he said what?!’ He’s so funny, so, anyway, [he needs] a lot of therapy,” she joked.
