With the way Meghan Markle is portrayed in the media – controlling, a workaholic and obsessed with fame (to name but a few kind phrases) – you’d assume she would have planned every detail of her very public wedding to Prince Harry down to a T. But in reality, the mother-of-one didn’t even test her makeup before the big day, despite her wedding being viewed by a cool 1.9 billion people.

Explaining Meghan’s natural look with her signature freckles popping through, Martin explained, “I feel like you can’t stray too far from who you want to be and who you are because the last thing you want to do is look at these pictures and think, ‘I was not comfortable looking like that.’ You still have to have a sense of who you are.”

Martin, who said that Meghan is “the most chill person” and said that her wedding morning was “easy,” said that Meghan is “still the same person.” He also revealed that, despite the worldwide royal wedding fever, the wedding felt “like a friend asking me to do her wedding” and that it wasn’t until he saw the crowds outside that he realised how much of a big deal it was.

“We had our phones off. We didn’t know what was happening outside. It was a moment in time that I’m always going to have. But I have to be honest, it’s kind of a blur because so much happened in that 15 hours,” he said.
