She’s no stranger to receiving criticism, but Aussie personal trainer Chontel Duncan has officially had enough of online trolls accusing her of flaunting an unrealistic post-baby body.
Just five and a half weeks after the birth of her second child, the 28-year-old has taken to Instagram to defend her incredibly fit physique.
“People have commented in the past 5 weeks some interesting stuff that I would like to clear up,” she began the lengthy post.
“I FULLY understand that my “postpartum changes” are not like the next persons, but neither are the next persons… does that make sense? My routine day in day out is HIIT HIIT HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
“My behaviour throughout my pregnancy consisted of 5 HIIT sessions per week running a business and running after a toddler.”
Chontel went on to credit her flat abs to her “healthy balanced diet.”
“If I didn’t train, I didn’t have a busy lifestyle and I didn’t eat well, I wouldn’t look anything like I do,” she continued. “So, when someone says this isn’t realistic remember my lifestyle and behaviour is pretty full on, but it’s what I enjoy and also it’s my career so the convenience is there too.”
She also responded to followers who had rudely questioned why her C-Section scar wasn’t visible in her snaps.
“My scar is very low and my doctor went through my old scar,” she explained.
“Actually, he cut out my old scar due to severe keyloid and gave me a VERY neat one in replacement.”
This isn’t the first time the fitness model has opened up about the realities of her birthing method.
“I’ll catch the trolls before they give me their two cents because I didn’t push my baby out which was (mind you) out of my control,” she wrote in a previous post.
“There’s nothing easy about a caesarean either… the tugging, the pushing, the sounds, the smells, the feeling of no control, the fear of something going wrong, the recovery all terrifies me. But I would do it all again in a heartbeat.”
Chontel and her husband Sam Duncan welcomed baby boy Swayde Noel on September 20.
