If there’s one thing Sofia Vergara is passionate about, it’s making her health a priority – and she’s encouraging women all over the world to follow her lead.
The actress has taken to Instagram in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, documenting her latest mammogram with a boomerang video.
In the short clip, the 45-year-old can be seen smiling as she poses in front of the imagery unit in a white robe.
“You have to do it!!!!!” she wrote in the caption.
This isn’t the first time Sofia has prompted her female following to get an annual check-up.
In 2016, the Modern Family star shared a similar pre-screening pic, penning: “It’s that time of year again.”
Although women who have no symptoms and are not at a high risk of breast cancer don’t usually require regular mammograms until the age of 50, Sofia’s taking extra precautions. But considering she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in 2000, this comes as no surprise.
“When you are confronted with something dramatic like the word ‘cancer’ you look at what is important to you,” she previously told Cosmopolitan UK. “I was lucky, because out of all of the cancers, this was one you can remove and treat. It could have been a lot, lot worse.”
