Have you checked your breasts for lumps lately?
Some people feel uncomfortable with the idea of giving their boobs a squeeze for fear of what they might find or because they are worried about doing it wrong.
Well, ladies (but also gents), it’s time.
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Estée Lauder is hosting a global breast-check, open to anyone who wants to join.
The live stream will feature Dr Zoe Williams, a GP who will guide viewers on what to look for on their breasts and how to best feel them up.
Elizabeth Hurley (yes, that Liz) who is the global brand ambassador for the brand, will also join in.
Dubbed Time To Unite, the event, which aims to ‘connect, unite and empower’, will take place next Wednesday (21 October)
Along with the self-check, attendees can also listen to personal stories from survivors like Leanne Pero, who is also the founder of Black Women Rising, and get advice from other panellists, such as Lauren Mahon, cancer campaigner and presenter of You, Me and the Big C.
Other guests include Kris Hallenga, founder of CoppaFeel!, a charity focused on breast cancer awareness, breast cancer survivor Helen Addis, who launched the Change and Check campaign and blogger Sebina Hissain.
Time To Unite was planned after the beauty business conducted research which found one in five women have deprioritised their breast health.
Two thirds of the women surveyed are also feeling more isolated and less connected in lockdown, and nearly half are less likely to share any breast health problems because of the pandemic.
Fancy joining in to check your own boobs? Log in here on the day, the event starts at 7pm.
