Buckingham Palace has issued a rare response against online advertisements that are using Meghan Markle to sell weight-loss pills. 

As initially reported by The Mirror, two false advertisements are using “quotes” from the Duchess of Sussex and photos of the royal before and after her pregnancy to promote the supplements. “Post pregnancy my body had lost its shape. But, with keto body tone, I came back,” the royal “says” in the scam.

One of the advertisements quotes the mom-of-one saying: 

“All my life I’ve been passionate about taking care of my weight due to the pressures of Hollywood to stay young and look fit. For the last 10 years I’ve been travelling the world and sourcing organic ingredients and weight loss remedies. The culmination is the launch of my all-female-owned weight loss line which combines the world’s richest and most sought after ingredients at affordable and everyday prices.”

The fake interview also reports the duchess as saying she’s pursuing her new “weight loss line” after being “forced” by royal family to choose her new future. 

A Buckingham Palace source responded to the ads saying, “This is obviously not true and an illegal use of the Duchess’ name for advertising purposes. We will follow our normal course of action.”

The news comes a few weeks after a British plastic surgeon claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge received “baby botox.” Kensington Palace spoke out against headlines that claimed Kate received the cosmetic treatments, calling it “categorically not true.”
