How These Best Friends Responded To Body Shamers Made Them Insta Famous

Georgia and Kate were just two fun-loving friends going out for a dance on a saturday night. Georgia, 21, as many of us do posted a picture of the pair on Instagram. But what happened next blew them away.

They were appalled at the reaction they received from their followers. One of the comments really struck home for the pair “You have photoshopped yourself thinner or your friend bigger, what kind of friend are you?”

Where it all started ^ We posted this picture online, just as best friends going out on the weekend, it got reposted a lot and the controversy started.. You have photoshopped yourself thinner or your friend bigger, what kind of friend are you? Was one of the comments, it broke my heart because Kate and I are best friends why would I do that? The fact that a simple picture of two people together went so viral purely because of their body types shocked me… and @any.body_co was created because no one should have to deal with that and it shouldn't even be acknowledged, all I see here is two women.. not one "skinny" woman and one "curvy" woman, stop comparing everyone to each other and accept every person as beautiful in their own right. #loveanyBODY

Instead of letting it get them down Kate Wasley and Georgia Gibbs, Australian-based models who are size six and 16 respectively silenced haters with this powerful response. The pair have gotten body positive and we couldn’t be prouder!

The besties launched their Instagram page @any.body_co just over one week ago and have gone viral! Growing over 40 thousand followers and an influx of body positive comments and messages. The pair decided to create the Instagram with their aim being to spread the word to women that:

"Whether you’re a size 6 or 16, above, below or in between, we believe you are unique and uniqueness is so beautiful in a world of so much similarity.”

"We aim to quit the comparisons, believe in loving yourself and accept you are so much more than just your body shape."

The longtime besties have been inundated with body positive comments and messages. These girls are truly inspirational – keep empowering other women.
