5 Of The Best Celeb-Approved Self Care Ideas

Whether it’s a face mask, a well-deserved glass of wine, or a hot bath – it’s always important to make time to look after numero uno. In celebration of International Self Care Day on Tuesday 24th July, we’ve compiled some of the best celeb-spruiked methods for switching off and zenning out.

1. Lucy Hale: Solo time

Disclaimer : this is a long caption. For the last week I took a solo trip to Arizona. (FYI -if you want to feel spiritually recharged, Come here.) I spent my days hiking, meditating, and spending time with myself. I’ve never done this before because I used to feel that putting myself first was selfish. It’s not. Not only is it healthy, but it’s necessary so that you can be the best for everyone else around you. I know this happens in other industries other than the one I’m in, but it’s incredibly easy to get sucked into the vortex of worrying about the next job, the success of a current one and what others think of you. This trip was a beautiful reminder that my health and happiness are crucial to the life I want to live and in order to be the best for my career and my loved ones, it’s necessary to do really nice things for yourself. SO, I highly recommend treating your mind, body and spirit right ( and taking a solo getaway). Thank you Arizona, I feel so refreshed ??

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale believes self care is “necessary so that you can be the best for everyone else around you.”

She likes to spend time with herself – either outdoors hiking or meditating – in order to feel spiritually recharged.

“My health and happiness are crucial to the life I want to live and in order to be the best for my career and my loved ones…I highly recommend treating your mind, body and spirit right (and taking a solo getaway).”

2. Emma Watson: Taking a bath

“I have a bath every single day of my life. And if I can have two or three – amazing.”

Not only is a bath cleansing and relaxing, Emma’s ethos is that it’s a sacred place where “nothing terrible is going to happen”. She also uses the time to be productive, saying “I’ll take phone conversations in the bath, anything.”

Inspired by Cleopatra, her bath will either involve milk, rose petals, epsom salts and nourishing oils like peppermint.

3. Gisele Bündchen: Meditation

Gisele Bündchen has learned to “stop, relax and take long deep breaths” to recharge, enhance focus and improve patience. The model says meditation has helped her to deal with stressful situations in a more loving way.

Whether it’s two days or two weeks, sometimes you just need a complete break from things.

For Selena Gomez – who struggled with mental health as part of her lupus diagnosis – spending some time away from her life at an inpatient facility was what she needed to stay grounded.

Her time away was spent doing pilates, meditation and equine therapy as “she felt like she needed to get away and focus on herself with no distractions”.

5. Lea Michele: Exercise

For actor and singer Lea Michele, what’s good for the body is good for the mind too.

“I’m a big yoga and hiking girl,” she says. She makes sure to not push herself to extremes but credits some gentle exercise (especially outdoors amongst nature) to helping her feel grounded.

“The better I feel, the better I can perform.”

We couldn’t agree more.
