Why Pregnant Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi Won't Take Maternity Leave After Her Third Child's Birth

Work doesn’t stop for Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi — even right after childbirth.

Speaking with PEOPLE Monday at The Cut‘s How I Get It Done conference in Brooklyn, New York, the 31-year-old Jersey Shore personality and third-time mom-to-be admitted that while she might “take a couple of days off” following the birth of her son, she’ll be back to work pretty quickly.

“That’s not a thing,” said Polizzi when asked, as her own boss, if she would take maternity leave. “I’m probably gonna take a couple of days off but my mental state is always thinking about work and my brand, and expanding it and improving it and making it better.”

“So taking a day off … that stresses me out, actually,” admitted the reality star and Snooki Shop guru.

Polizzi announced the upcoming new addition to her family with husband Jionni LaValle in November, revealing the following month that her third child will be a boy.

And considering she’s already mom to daughter Giovanna Marie, 4, and son Lorenzo Dominic, 6½, Polizzi “[doesn’t] have time to relax” in this pregnancy when compared to her previous ones, as she’s busy parenting and “running all these businesses” in between.

“I’m more tired than ever. I actually just got over morning sickness … and just being in a good mood … I was so nervous that I was getting depressed and sick,” she said. “I was just getting all into my feelings.”

“I was just feeling like crap … so now I’m normal to where I can do these things and go places, because I just wasn’t in the mood [before],” Polizzi admitted.

Polizzi’s two children can’t wait to meet their baby brother. In fact, they’re so “excited” about it that they “talk to [her] belly every day” and have adorably nicknamed their sibling “the belly baby.”

“They tell my belly how their day was. They kiss the belly,” she told PEOPLE. “My daughter, [when] she has food, she’ll put it by my belly [to] ‘feed’ the baby. It’s so cute.”

The star also explained that she won’t be attending BFF Jenni “JWoww” Farley‘s upcoming 33rd birthday festivities because “I’m still pregnant and I can’t move,” but will “take her out to a nice dinner” to celebrate. (Farley is mom to son Greyson Valor, 2½, and daughter Meilani Alexandra, 4½.)

In the meantime, Polizzi cherishes times the duo spend “hanging out with our kids and our kids hanging out. I think one of our best times together right now in our life is having her come over with the kids, or snuggling on the couch watching Netflix movies and the kids in the playroom playing. That’s our best days together.”
